Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication.

3. Write a well developed paragraph summarizing the section of the book you read this week.  I only want to read about what you read this week. Be sure to include a topic sentence and supporting details.

4. Write about the novel’s POINT OF VIEW.  Is it in 1st person or 3rd person?  How can you tell?  Be sure to include a piece of cited text (name #) that supports the point of view.

5. Once you have posted your comment, go back and read through your classmate’s comments about the books they have been reading and comment on one of their posts by asking "I wonder..." questions; or, if you have read the book, you may make more specific comments. Be specific as to which classmate you are responding to.  You must read your classmate’s entries and make a meaningful comment on their work in order to receive an A.

Condie, Ally. Matched. New York: Scholastic, 2010. Print.

Matched, by Allie Condie, is a science fiction book set in the future. So far in the story, the main character Cassia is on her way to her Match Banquet where she will learn who she will be placed with for the rest of her life. She is nervous and excited about the Banquet and happy that her best friend Xander is going with her.

The novel is written in first person point of view. I can tell because all of the protagonist’s thoughts and feelings are shared. Also, the explanative portion of the dialogue uses 1st person pronouns, such as I, me, or my.
“ ‘What are you smiling about?’ Xander wonders as I smooth the folds of my green silk dress down neat. ‘Everything,’ I tell him. And it’s true” (Condie 3).

Hahn, Mary Downing. The Old Willis Place. New York: Clarion Books, 2004. Print.

This book is about brother and sister Georgie and Diana who have been living in the woods behind The Old Willis Place, a decaying mansion. Strict rules won't let them leave the property or be seen by anyone. But a new caretaker comes and has a daughter named Lissa. Diana is tempted to break the rules and make friends with her.

The story is wrote in first point of view. I know this because it says all of Diana's thoughts. "Imagine what it would be like to have someone to talk to in this horrible place? I wondered." (Hahn 5).

Murdoch, Patricia. Exposure. Canada: Library of Congress, 2003. Print.

This week I started reading Exposure. So far it told me about Sammy. She's a freshman in high school. She's on the chubby side and gets made fun of by the popular girls in school. She found out bad stuff about Dana and Amy (girls who make fun of her) and she is gonna tell everyone.

The novel is in 1st person. i can tell because Sammy, the main character, uses words like I , me , and my. "I noticed Dana coming towardes us. I tensed up, right on cue" (Murdoch 3).

So far in the book Evie got caught and she got back from Reth's house. She was saved and Raquel was so happy do see her but now they found out someone killed all of the vamipers. The point of view in the book is 1st person point of view."I shook my head."It wasn't calling for him that was the problem. Everything was happening so fast, and I could feel the vamp"s teeth on my neck and I- When I called for Reth I yelled out "I need you".(White 68)

The girls have this special pair of pants that resemble there friendship, they'll be friends to end but when the girls have to go there seperate ways the pants are the only thing they have to remember eachother.

Hautman Pete. Blank Confession. New York:Simon & Schuster, 2010. Print.

The section of the book I am reading this week is about Shayne getting jumped bye kyle and Jon. He tells the police but he says that they will leave him alone since they won. Now Micheal is mad because Shayne doesn't want to hang out with him anymore.

The chapter I am reading is in third person point of view. In the book it changes narrators every chapter. "Rawls new though he could not have said exactly how he knew".

This week the book Bruiser was about a girl that falls for a man. Secondly his brother is against the hole idea of her dating him. The next day the parents talk about it and the girl is allowed to go on a date with the Bruiser.

This book is first person point of view. The reason why it is becasue the narrator is the brother and is used in ever conversation. Starting with the words "I". "I followed the Bruiser in. i have to say, im a little dissipointed at what i find." (Shusterman 65)

This book is about a boy named Julius and his mom signed him up for a summer language learning. His friend is going to because Julius mom told his friend Ethan's mom.

The novel's frist point of view is julius. I know Julius is the frist point of veiw because in the book on page 4 it said his mom gets him in summer school.
